Beached in Costa Rica (finally ;o) - Quepos / Manuel Antonio
Ahhhh, finally a nice and relaxing day where we did what we should have been doing on a vacation … making the most of and enjoying our location.
This morning Junior and I left our room as soon as we awoke, had our standard tipico Tico breakfast at a downtown Quepos restaurant by the bus station, walked up and down most every street inventorying the businesses that had changed in the two years since we had visited and finally found a nice tipico Tico hotel owned and run by Alvaro (or Alberto) Mora and his familia. For $28 we got a room at Hotel Mar y Luna (teléphono 506-777-0394) with two single beds and a hot water shower (rooms with no water heating device were $22).

After we moved to Hotel Mar y Luna in the morning, Junior and I finally got to spend about 3 hours on the beach and in the warm Pacific Ocean waters of Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Manuel Antonio is seven kilometers (7km) south of Quepos along a coastal mountain road. Instead of taking taxis, we took the Quepos – Manuel Antonio bus to and from the beach for a fare of 110 colones for each passenger, each way (total day's fare for two people = $1.00 USD).

Upon returning to Quepos we had our usual dinners; Junior's spaghetti and my pescado ajillo (garlic fish) … then back to the hotel to enjoy the view and catch-up on sharing our Costa Rica adventures. As I type this blog; it's 7:30pm, I'm sitting on the Hotel Mar y Luna second floor hotel balcony much like those seen in the French Quarter of New Orleans, it just started to rain lightly but the rain usually ends within 15 minutes, there's not much of a breeze, tourists and locals walk slowly in the rain and hotel guests across the street at the Hotel El Malinche and Monchados restaurant sit on their respective street level patios people watching as well.
