What's that Jar of Spicy Vegetables at Costa Rica Restaurants?
So what is that jar of spicy vegetable dressing on the table of many Costa Rica restaurants?
It's called "Chilera"!
Chilera is used to spice up many Costa Rican dishes -- just add a few drops to your food.
If you're REALLY bold, try eating a few of the fiery vegetables whole like Junior! [pictured below]

I loved those Chilera photos! Adorable kid and fun captions. I've seen chliera on every restaurant table in Costa Rica, but I never tried it. I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to trying new foods. Somone else has to suggest it first. So thank you. I'm back in the States but as soon as I return I'll try some chilera - and I'll make sure there is someone ready with a camera!

Hi Bill, Love your blog. I have a piece of property in Atenas, and will be doing some landscaping. Have you ever seen anyone with a rototiller? I would certainly like to buy one down there. Or does anyone else reading this blog know of such a thing? Thanks in advance. Linda
